Story
Hi there!
70.3 miles of sweat, tears, and endurance. Why am I taking on a Half Ironman? For the hidden heroes of the UK: Kinship Carers.
Hi, I’m Brad, and I’m pushing my body to the limit to raise money for Kinship Carers UK, they are an amazing traditional community charity run by kinship volunteers .
Over 160,000 UK children are being raised by grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends. These "kinship carers" step in during a family crisis to keep kids out of the foster care system. They sacrifice their careers, savings, and retirements out of love, yet they rarely get the financial or emotional support they desperately need.
How the Charity Helps Kinship Carers UK acts as a lifeline. They provide expert advice, run support groups so carers don't feel alone, and organise family events so these kids have a safe space to just be kids.
A Half Ironman: A 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run—is going to be grueling. But my one-day endurance event is nothing compared to the daily resilience of these families.
Please sponsor my pain for their gain! Every donation, big or small, helps ensure these incredible families and the children they love don't have to struggle alone.
Thank you so much for your support!
